Renault Laguna was absent from the Australian new car market in 1996, but now its back with a new distributor and new models. Renault Australia (within the Alliance, Nissan/Renault) was launched here in June 2001, with the band, which consists of Clio Hatchbacks, 2WD and 4WD scenic Megane wagon and convertible. Equipment levels are generous, with all Lagunas featuring twin front and front side airbags, side curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability program, traction control, air conditioning, climate control, electric (front) and mirrors, remote locking, cruise control, alloy wheels (4), trip computer and a CD player. Privilege model, add Xenon headlamps, power front seats, six-stack CD player, leather and velour upholstery, fog lamps, rain sensing wipers, rear side window sunshades and extra storage compartments.
